Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Residence Life Ministry for Multi-faith Support and Religious Literacy provides support for students from diverse faith traditions and initiates, designs, and implements opportunities for the campus community to increase religious literacy, and engage in interfaith dialogue. This Campus Minister serves as a member of the Residence Life Ministry team, providing unique expertise and collaborative opportunities for multi-faith religious literacy and pastoral support across a spectrum of faith traditions.
Responsibilities include direct ministry with students through the development of outreach initiatives across a spectrum of faith traditions, multi-faith religious literacy and educational opportunities, interfaith sharing/dialogue/study groups, prayer/reflection events, student leadership development, and other programs and experiences. The minister will also utilize knowledge and skills to provide pastoral care, coordinate community development activities with the Residence Life staff, network residents with other campus wide programs, partner with the Center for International Programs, and foster engagement with faith communities in the Dayton area to meet the goals for this ministry. This minister is committed to uphold the Catholic and Marianist vision of the University through ministry across the spectrum of major faith and belief traditions and participating as an active member of the Residence Life Ministry and Campus Ministry teams. While this person serves within residence areas, the position is not live-in. This is a ten month position with full benefits, open to people of all religious identities.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree
Understanding of beliefs and practices of the world's major religions
Familiarity with methodologies and practices in facilitating interfaith relationships
Strong written communication skills
Willingness to work late evenings and some weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree (Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies or related field)
Higher Education experience
Demonstrated knowledge of young adult faith development

Demonstrated successful experience in the following:
Facilitating dialogue across difference, especially among people of diverse faith and cultural backgrounds
Direct ministry to youth/young adults
Ability to recruit, train, and supervise undergraduate student leaders
Developing and implementing creative and engaging religious literacy programs for youth/young adults
Ability to relate to and serve as a mentor for students
Experience with pastoral care and crises response
Ability to work collaboratively on a team
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
Capacity to represent the Catholic and Marianist character of the university
Strong oral communication skills
Fluency in current knowledge and practice of social media in ministry
Ministry with attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion
