Position Summary: UDRI is seeking a mechanical or aerospace research engineer to support the design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of fastening and sealing technology for articulating high temperature structures. This work will involve the application of fundamental engineering principles to the computational design/analysis and experimental testing of aerospace systems.
Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Research Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field is required. The candidate must be proficient using the standard suite of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. The candidate must have experience working with SolidWorks and commercial finite element analysis (FEA) software, such as Abaqus, Ansys, or Nastran. The candidate must have strong verbal and interpersonal skills, and must be able to interact effectively with other engineers, as well as with current and potential customers. Due to the security clearance requirements of this position, US citizenship is required. The candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check.

Research Engineer: Associate Structures Engineer minimum qualifications plus three years of relevant experience working with SolidWorks and commercial FEA software such as Abaqus, Ansys, and/or Nastran.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Research Engineer: A MS or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field is desired. Preferred candidates will have experience with the design and analysis of high temperature structures, and the planning of small structural tests.

Research Engineer: Associate Research Engineer preferred qualifications plus detailed knowledge of fastening and sealing techniques for high temperature structures.
