Position Summary: |
Be part of the dynamic Athletics division at the University of Dayton, where excellence on the field and in the classroom is our passion. We are seeking a dedicated Athletics Compliance Intern to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring our student-athletes and programs adhere to NCAA regulations.
The Compliance Intern will assist with compliance responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, monitoring of countable athletically related activities (CARA), recruiting logs, travel logs, and other recruiting, compliance, and roster management related matters. Additionally, the intern will assist in developing education materials for coaches, student-athletes and other constituents on campus to ensure NCAA and A-10 rules and processes are communicated correctly. There will be an opportunities to learn and observe more advanced compliance responsibilities and gain experience in written interpretations, waivers, and violations. This is a one year internship with the possibility of a second year.

Minimum Qualifications: |
• Bachelor’s Degree; • Administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; • Strong written communication skills; • Proficiency in Microsoft programs; • Ability to work independently; • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintains a low risk driving record and is insurable by the University.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• One year’s experience in NCAA compliance at the university or conference level, or at the NCAA national office; • Expert in Microsoft programs; • A former NCAA student athlete; • Advanced Degree; • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, trust, and confidentiality with coaches and staff; • Experience using JumpForward software, LSDBi, RSRO, and/or Compliance Assistant.
