Position Summary: The Contract Specialist is a member of the University of Dayton’s Contracts and Grants Office and supports a variety of contracts and grants management activities. This position organizes and coordinates information and documentation (e.g., RFPs, proposals, contracts, modifications) in all assigned sponsor portals used by the Contracts & Grants Office. The Contract Specialist serves as the first-tier support for contracts and grants customer support. This position will process proposals, awards, and modifications in the Deltek Costpoint system. This position is also responsible for several databases and works closely with the Contracts and Grants Office Leadership to identify, develop, and implement process improvements. The Contract Specialist is responsible for completing and tracking representations and certifications and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) for assigned sponsors. This position updates and maintains multiple databases, as well as processes certain internal and external forms and manages the CGO general email inbox.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and one (1) year relevant experience
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word
• Ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail, and a focus on superior customer service
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, problem-solving, analytical, project management and customer service skills
• Must be able to manage a consistent workload in a deadline driven environment
• Ability to build effective relationships among a workforce at all levels
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Advanced degree
• Working knowledge of support functions within a government contracting environment
• Experience with federal government contracting agencies, including DOD and GSA
