Associate Research Engineer Advanced Materials Charac - 250468
Performs the functions of an associate research engineer in mechanical engineering specializing in support of contracted research programs focused on behavior and life prediction of aerospace materials, with special attention given to the understanding of metals used in aerospace applications. Major duties will be performed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) facility and include: practical design and/or procurement of test equipment and fixtures, development of test protocols and procedures, and hands-on execution of experiments. Additional duties include performing literature surveys, technical report writing, detailed microstructural characterization, developing experimental procedures, and computer programming.
Post Doctoral Researcher Mann Chair in the Sciences - 208005
We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position to study glaciers in High Mountain Asia. The selected candidate will conduct glacier modeling, analyze glacier dynamics, evaluate remote sensing datasets (optical/radar/ICESat) and develop tools for integrating remote sensing data and model outputs. The selected candidate will be involved in ongoing projects that include glacier mapping, glacier lake outburst flood, glacier modeling, debris thickness, etc. This position provides an opportunity to grow your skillset and also allows you to bring new skills and unique methods to study the impact of climate change on these glaciers. Expertise in machine learning techniques and coding experience is not required but strongly preferred. It is important for scientists to use their expertise for societal benefits. Thus, the candidate is also expected to support ongoing efforts in using geospatial techniques for societal impact analysis, such as "Rights for Water," primarily related to glacier meltwater or other human rights violations. The appointment will be for 1 year, with continuation pending funding and progress. The position is eligible for benefits.
Associate Fuel System Engineer Fuels & Combustion - 250320
A Fuel System Engineer conducts the construction, operation, maintenance, design-of - experiments, data reporting/interpretation for a system to simulate the delivery of jet fuel to an engine. This engineer should be able to successfully incorporate jet fuel tanks, pumps, tubing, filters, heat exchangers, flow controllers and diagnostics to evaluate the operation of simulated fuel systems for aircraft.

UDRI is seeking to add members to a growing team dedicated to the development of new Open System Architectures (OSA) for the Air Force. This position will need to perform a variety of software development and analysis tasks, in addition to participating in the OSA standards meetings on a regular basis. Team members will need to attend weekly web meetings and be active participants in the SOSA Consortium Working Group(s). Need to have the ability to travel every other month to week long, face-to-face (F2F) meetings that are located at various sites around the US. An active US SECRET (or higher) clearance is strongly preferred but not required, although ability to obtain clearance is required.
