This position entails engineering and qualifying additively manufactured components for USAF aircraft, ground support equipment and vehicles. Additionally, this position entails the transition of this technology to the USAF through written technical orders and course development and on site training of USAF personnel. This role will support design, re-engineering and test/validation of hardware produced through additive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will: Design, analyze and optimize mechanical components for additive manufacturing (i.e. turbine engine components, heat exchangers, housings, brackets, structural supports, vehicle parts and aerospace hardware) and mechanical systems, in accordance with current and applicable engineering standards and practices. The role will require Interfacing with USAF hardware owners and teams for component selection and understanding design intent for hardware transitioning from traditional manufacturing processes to additive manufacturing. Create and execute component and system level validation and qualification test plans, as well as analysis of test data and results. The work will primarily support government customers, but some industrial business may be supported by this position as well.
