Position Summary: Microbiology and molecular biology research and development position in the area of fuels and energy that requires strong expertise and hands-on experience with microbiology and molecular biology research techniques and instrumentation.
Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. with 3 years of experience post-graduation or M.S. degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biomolecular sciences, biochemistry or related fields. Key qualifications include experience with BLS 1/2 microbiological techniques, bacterial and fungal cultivation, recombinant DNA techniques and cloning, preparation of media, buffers and solutions, PCR, qPCR, cDNA, agarose electrophoresis, nucleic acids isolations, protein purification, SDS-PAGE and Western Blot, ELISA, FPLC, microscopy, technical report writing and presentations.
A minimum of three years of related experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency with microbiological and biomolecular techniques, previous research in molecular and environmental microbiology, general understanding of next-gen DNA sequencing and bioinformatics, use of bioreactors / fermentors.
Other beneficial skills include familiarity with genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) platforms.
Demonstrate high motivation, innovation, critical thinking, and capacity to work independently in an R&D environment. A record of R&D accomplishments that include peer-reviewed publications and other technical writings in microbiology and molecular biology is preferred.
