Position Summary: This is a full-time position at the UDRI campus in Dayton, OH. The position is for a technical writer of logistics support for aircraft sustainment technology including corrosion protection; coating application, removal and maintenance; aircraft maintenance; and technology integration. The work will primarily support government customers, but some industrial business may be supported as well. Specific work tasks include reviewing technical orders for currency; external references valid and updated, internal references accurate and consistent, changes and updates consistent with good technical order format; provide support and guidance on technical writing specific topics; provide technical writing support as necessary. Responsibilities include incorporating changes to technical orders, reviewing technical orders, creating and editing technical documentation with a primary focus on technology sustainment and integration. Additional responsibilities included managing the technical writing aspects of the applicable project(s) to ensure they are completed within cost and planned schedule, and meet risk and performance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering, or a related field
5 years of experience writing complete technical documents, including organizing the document and working with internal and external (agencies, customer) personnel
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Previous military and/or mechanical aptitude/experience
Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in business, logistics or related field
Experience in aerospace maintenance
Demonstrated successful experience in entrepreneurship and proposal writing
Management experience (1 or more years) with multi-million dollar programs
Self-starter with the ability to write and edit concise text using publications software
Effective interpersonal communications skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
Active US Security Clearance within the last 2 years
