Position Summary: UDRI is seeking an electrical engineer in UDRI’s Electrical/Electronic Failure Analysis Laboratory. This position is located at WPAFB. Roles and responsibilities include hand’s-on failure analysis of electrical and electronic components and systems and use of electronic test equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:

P1 Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a nationally-accredited university
• Hands-on experience performing electrical/electronic-related tasks in a laboratory or production environment
• Proficiency with use of common electrical/electronic test instrumentation such as the multimeter, oscilloscope, and power supply
• Ability to perform simple troubleshooting/repair of electrical/electronic systems using drawings and schematics
• Ability to design simple electrical/electronic devices or systems
• Experience with hand-soldering and using common hand tools
• Ability to write test reports
• U.S. citizen
• Hold a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance, or ability to receive DoD Secret Clearance by passing a national agency check (NAC)

• Three years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a nationally-accredited university

• Ability to perform troubleshooting/repair of electrical/electronic systems using drawings and schematics
• Ability to design electrical/electronic devices or systems

• Ability to write test reports
• U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in environmental testing (temperature, vibration, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with analytical tools such as scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS)
• Demonstrated experience with performing cross-sections of components
• Demonstrated experience with electrical power systems (generators, circuit breakers, contactors, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with electronic manufacturing and related hardware (printed circuit board fabrication, soldering, component packages, etc.)
• Familiarization with material properties
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
