Position Summary: The Public Safety Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to and serve as the door keeper for the Executive Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police and the Assistant Chief of Police. Those responsibilities include but are not limited to administrative functions, acting as a liaison for the Executive Director of Public Safety and the Assistant Chief of Police with other internal and external departments, coordination of daily business functions, and managing special projects. The administrative assistant will develop and maintain records reflecting department data/statistics, maintain personnel records, create budget and purchasing documents, and monitor and maintain records associated with P Card purchases. He/she will assist in program research and development.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Minimum High School Diploma

Experience: Minimum of five years experience in providing secretarial/administrative support in increasingly demanding positions, including research and data compilation and presentation in standardized formats.

Advanced skills required in: Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel (Microsoft Office).

Experience in budget related document preparation and record keeping.

Demonstrated proficiency in management of personnel records and management of confidential or sensitive records and information.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and analytical skills, and a professional demeanor.

Adaptable and versatile

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel, budget, and project matters, as well as sensitive investigations and privileged information in compliance with FERPA, HIPPA, and the Ohio Public Records Act.

Preferred Qualifications:

College or trade school coursework in administration is preferred.
