Position Summary:

The Identify, Apply and Scale (IAS) capability, located in Beavercreek, OH, is the hub of the Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) and will be the lead in bringing together a comprehensive network of new technological methods, processes, and techniques. Success will come from our teamwork and mutual respect for each other’s talents and unique perspectives.

This person will serve as the lead of operations at UDRI's IAS facility. The role will support development of a collaborative ecosystem to maximize the power of the small business, universities, and non-traditional defense contractor community. The facility design will help to identify emerging technologies and businesses that can advance the AF mission, adapt the approach to the Air Force need, if applicable, and scale the approaches across the operational Air Force. Daily duties will include oversight of all technical, logistical, and programmatic activities at the IAS, supporting the RSO initiatives and in alignment with the vision. As the on-site lead, this position will also serve as leadership for all UDRI and/or contract personnel. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day operations and oversite of the facility, providing input and advice on strategic direction and overseeing all on-site conducted research, analysis, technology maturation, and reporting/metrics to meet client needs. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial, collaborative spirit and enjoy applying innovative thinking and approaches to this one of a kind facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Demonstrated track record in innovative problem solving and team creation
Combined 8 years' directly related experience in the small business community and/or the Air Force
8 years’ of demonstrated team leadership skills including direct and indirect reports

Demonstrated self-starter with successful experience identifying paths forward, developing plans, and following-through to execution.
Proven experience in customer facing roles
Demonstrated experience working with and leading a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent written communication skills
Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship required
Must be willing & able to work some nights/weekends associated with customer deliverables
Proficient in Microsoft Office products

Consistent, professional dress and manner.
Demonstrated successful performance and proven results using program management principles and methodologies (including strategic communications)
Proven successful experience in conflict resolution
Proven successful experience leading a team of highly motivated and accomplished professionals creating and moving toward a common vision and/or goal
Exceptional verbal communication skills
Excellent active listening skills
Proven experience working with small businesses and innovators
Proven experience in working with universities
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Demonstrated strong analytic and decision making abilities
Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team in an inclusive environment
Demonstrated successful experience in a site/facility leadership role
Excellent interpersonal skills
