Position Summary: The Business Manager serves as the financial officer for the School of Law and is responsible for its financial administration, including budgeting, expenditure approval, receipts, accounting and compliance, analytics, and capital improvement management. This position must adhere to University financial management standards, general management and accounting principles, practices, methods, and techniques. The Business Manager prepares the ABA annual Questionnaire, the financial and other material needed for ABA accreditation visits, and the U.S. News and World Report annual questionnaire and responds to other internal and external requests for information as needed. This position is responsible for and oversees all the human resource activities for the department, including but not limited to serving as primary liaison for all faculty and staff hires and employment changes. The Business Manager serves as a liaison for the School of Law faculty and staff to various campus offices, including Finance, Facilities, and Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in business, accounting, or finance
- Five or more years of experience in budgeting and financial reporting, specifically income statements and balance sheets
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft products, spreadsheets, accounting systems and other related technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Capability to independently manage multiple projects
- CPA or equivalent
- Demonstrated strong financial, analytical, and accounting skills
- Experience with the University’s budget model, policies, procedures, guidelines, systems and structure
- Experience with accounts payable and vendor contracts
- Knowledge of human resource law and processes
- Previous supervisory experience
