Position Summary: Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Police Operations, the Sergeant will supervise and exact the proper performance of police duties from subordinate members of the department; will conduct investigations and reports on all police conditions and activities; perform all additional functions prescribed for the rank by relevant laws, the Department of Public Safety manual, orders or directives of the University of Dayton Department of Public Safety; and perform special duties or assignments as ordered by the Director or his designee.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalency; OPOTA certified police officer; Must be, or meet all requirements to be, a police officer for the University of Dayton Department of Public Safety; Must have demonstrated a history of positive interpersonal and organizational skills; Must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certification within one year of appointment and maintain same throughout course of employment; Minimum of two (2) years of full time law enforcement experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior university law enforcement experience; Associates, BA, BS or higher degree in a field related to law enforcement.
