Position Summary:

The Digital Marketing Strategist/Copywriter will support the Advancement division in enhancing the brand and national reputation of the University. This position is a member of a creative team that collaborates closely to support the marketing needs of Advancement, including producing compelling, innovative, results oriented social media messaging and print and electronic copy to support philanthropy, engagement and stewardship initiatives.

The Digital Marketing Strategist/Copywriter is responsible for developing and posting social media content; monitoring and responding to social media messages; assisting with crisis communications; placing and monitoring digital advertising campaigns; tracking mass communications; and measuring and analyzing results.

This position also writes and edits materials (including brochures, invitations, emails, blog posts, digital marketing and web copy), that ensure key messages reach, engage and persuade target audiences.

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; some nights and weekends, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field.
● Three years of progressive experience in marketing or communication.
● Demonstrated experience in digital marketing.
● Excellent written communication skills with a solid portfolio of work that demonstrates skill in creativity and marketing/advertising.
● Demonstrated experience in creating content for social media, including being a voice for a business, organization or other entity.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow through and prioritize multiple tasks.
● Ability to work independently and with cross-departmental teams.
● Proficiency in AP style.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience benchmarking, measuring and analyzing the results of marketing efforts.
● Experience developing and implementing digital ad campaigns (e.g., Facebook ads, Google AdWords, IP targeting, etc).
● Demonstrated success in following social media trends and implementing a social media campaign.
● Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze social media performance using tools such as Falcon.io, Hootsuite, Ubervu, Sprout Social, Facebook Insights, etc.
● Experience with search engine optimization (SEO).
