Position Summary:

The Management/Marketing department at the University of Dayton invites you to apply for one of two non-tenure track positions at the rank of Lecturer, beginning August 16, 2021 (one in management, one in marketing).

Management/Marketing Department
Our Department offers majors and minors in Entrepreneurship, Management, and Marketing. Our Sales program within Marketing is recognized by Selling Power Magazine as a top university training program for developing sales professionals, and placement rates are high. Our Entrepreneurship program for undergraduates is one of the very best i- regularly rated among the best in the country by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine.

The department has two nationally recognized centers in the above areas, each of which sponsors several real-world competitions for students as part of our experiential learning emphasis across the curriculum. Our Talorico Center for Professional Selling trains and sponsors students to compete (and win) sales competitions around the U.S. And, the Crotty Center for Entrepreneurship also brings theory to practice with our Everest Real Estate Challenge and the UD Flyer Pitch Business Plan competition. Job responsibilities for this position include teaching four course sections per semester (Fall/Spring). These may be undergraduate and/or MBA courses in the areas of marketing and/or management and could vary across semesters in delivery mode (online/in person) and time (day/evening). Further responsibilities include service to the department, University, and community, as well as collaborative engagement with colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications:

● MBA or master’s degree in management, marketing, or an equivalent related field
● Teaching experience at the college level
● Successful experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level in the management or marketing/sales discipline
● Effective written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
● Successful experience in and/or willingness to teach a variety of courses in management and/or marketing
● Successful professional experience in marketing, management, or allied areas
● Versatility in teaching and mentoring, including students from diverse backgrounds
● Effective oral and communication skills
● Effective interpersonal communication skills
● An appreciation of the University’s Marianist values of theory-to-practice, practical wisdom, and community
● Willingness to teach in different venues and modalities (in-person/online; day/evening)
● Successful use of learning resources, including technology and/or active learning strategies
