Position Summary:

Facilities Management & Planning is responsible for the care and maintenance of 5 million square feet of academic, administrative & athletic facilities, on a 388 acre urban campus. The Maintenance Technician Troubleshoot performs skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and associated equipment/systems. In addition, the technician will respond to emergency situations as necessary.

This position is an 8 hr/day rotating shifts & weekend.

Minimum Qualifications:

*High School diploma or GED equivalent
*General knowledge/skills of the following: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, repair of doors/windows, including hardware

*General knowledge of using machines or tools
*Experience painting, including minor wall repair
*Experience with general building maintenance

*Experience to respond to various alarms (fire, elevator entrapment, sprinkler, leaks, etc.
*Experience monitoring Metasys HVAC control systems
*Must possess maturity in judgment, have demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and ability to get along with widely diverse personalities
*Candidate must have basic computer skills
*Valid driver's license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

*Refrigerant recovery certification
*Trades related certifications/training (documentation required)
*Minimum of 2 years experience performing work as described herein.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
