Position Summary:

Join UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers! UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for our Staff Project Manager opening! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This is a full time position at the UDRI campus in Dayton, OH. The position will provide planning, coordination and support to multiple technical areas including advanced manufacturing and cold spray repair technologies. This candidate will be responsible for managing the life cycle of a project including effectively executing all five phases of project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling and closure. This candidate will also be responsible for cost, schedule performance and risk associated with projects assigned to them. They must be able to brief senior leadership and the government customer on project status. The position is responsible to achieve all assigned operational objectives, contribute information and recommendations to strategic planning efforts. Support an environment of continuous process improvement, and positively affect cultural change within the organization with an emphasis on strong servant leadership. It is crucial that this candidate have high energy, a positive get-it-done attitude, and a self-starter requiring little guidance or oversight. They must be willing to do whatever it takes for the success of a project and keeping all technical teams in sync.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable business related field.
• 10+ years of directly related project management experience.
• Project Management Professional certification from PMI.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience with proposal writing and cost management.
• Fully proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
• US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or applicable field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional communication skills among team members, senior leadership and with customers, at all levels.
• Self-starter, can-do, positive and agile mindset.
• Demonstrated capability to work in a fast paced, team environment with limited oversight.
• Experience with Scrum Master and agile project management approaches.
• Experience managing USAF projects.
• Working knowledge of UDRI and USAF principles, policies and procedures.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
