Position Summary:

Join our team of talented individuals who contribute to a nationally recognized dining program and is committed to providing healthy food options to students, faculty and staff on campus.

The Au Bon Pain Customer Service Specialist performs a variety of duties including food preparation, cashiering, providing customer service, processing GET orders, stocking and cleaning while following all Au Bon Pain and food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

This is a 9 month position.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Must have a High School diploma or GED.
*Must be able to effectively write and communicate in English.
*Must have basic math skills and the ability to handle money accurately.
*Must be able to exert well paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours.
*Must have the ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds in weight.
*Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and use finger dexterity for periods up to 4 hours at a time.
*Must be able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
*Must be able to visibly differentiate colors for the purposes of food safety.
*Must be able to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes and loud noise.
*Must be able to work independently with the appropriate amount of supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

*One year in a food preparation position.
*Experience in a high volume a la carte operation and proven customer service skills.
*Successful cash register experience.
*Experience with MICROS registers.
*Working knowledge of standard commercial kitchen equipment.
*Current managerial ServSafe certification.
*Demonstrates a professional demeanor.
*Experience working with students and a diverse multi cultural staff.
*Successful experience assisting customers.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This position is approximately nine months/year. Primary shift is 1:00p-8:30pm. Must be able to work some holidays and weekends per the union contract.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
