Position Summary:

UDRI is a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers. This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) in Dayton, OH, at the University of Dayton Research Institute and will also support the ATTC facility located in Warner Robins, GA. This position will oversee and manage the additive manufacturing operations sustainment activities and will serve as the AM Operations Manager for all advanced manufacturing processes, metal and polymer additive manufacturing, post process machining, heat treatment, etc. This position will provide process leadership in regards to production, providing input for both short and long-term manufacturing strategies. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in relevant field OR 10+ years in production operations leadership
•10+ years proven experience working in and leading manufacturing facility operations
•Experience working in facilities with quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO9001 with demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements for operating manufacturing facilities
•Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, welding, and heat treat
•Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
•Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology and experience with ERP systems
•Proven experience operating manufacturing facility equipment safely and efficiently
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with team members at all levels
•Strong leadership and managerial attributes
•Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
•US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

•Experience with polymer and/or metal additive manufacturing (FDM, Powder Bed Fusion, etc.)
•Experience with manufacturing operations for aircraft and/or aerospace applications
•Experience with ECI JobBOSS2 (formerly E2 Shoptech) ERP system or equivalent
•Familiar with CAD software packages
•Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
