Audit, Risk and Compliance seeks a University Auditor and Risk Specialist (“Auditor”) to support the work of the Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management Departments and help the University ensure strong stewardship and accountability at all levels. The Auditor will report to the Executive Director of Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management. The Auditor should have an appreciation of higher education risks and be able to apply those to a risk-based program within the University.

The Auditor will be responsible for executing audits and assisting with monitoring, tracking, and measuring enterprise risks. This will include developing the audit scope and objectives, identifying risks and controls, creating risk and control assessments, performing detailed testing, documenting workpapers, and drafting audit reports or other deliverables of work. The Auditor will be expected to work on various types of audits including financial, operational, technology, security, and regulatory audits and may also assist with other areas of risk monitoring and mitigation processes for enterprise risk management. The Auditor will maintain productive relationships with process and risk owners to support the audits and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, Information Technology, or closely related field.
At least one year of experience performing internal audits or two years managing a risk-based program.
Successful experience building relationships with a highly collaborative personal style and ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards of Independence.
Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and change.
Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and other related PC applications and functional knowledge of data analytics.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Professional experience within an institution of higher learning or other complex, highly regulated industry.
Strong experience working in Excel.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
