Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our Contracts and Grants office invites qualified candidates to apply for our Pricing Manager opening! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

Reporting to the Director of Contracts and Grants, the Pricing Manager will work closely with UDRI business development and technical teams to develop compliant and competitive cost proposals. The Pricing Manager will thoroughly review competitive solicitations, perform pricing related analysis, write basis of estimates with the support from the technical team, lead and develop the proposal cost/price strategy, and ensure the cost proposal is of the highest quality prior to submission. This position will also develop cost proposal tools and templates to ensure high quality/accuracy proposals, develop & manage databases for key proposal information, and support sole source proposals when needed. The Pricing Manager will lead strategic pricing discussions and support post-award analysis and recommendations.
The Pricing Manager will provide training, development, and mentorship of contract and proposal specialists within the office. The Pricing Manager will ensure proposals are in compliance with University, sponsor, and government policies and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of six years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience is required

Three years of experience working in a defense contracting environment

Experience drafting cost narratives or basis of estimates

Proficient with the Microsoft Excel (Lookup Functions, IF statements, Pivot Tables, etc.)

Proficient with the Microsoft Word (Formatting, Table of Contents, etc.)

Experience preparing budgets and performing detailed financial analysis

Experience with reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and responding to RFPs, RFQs, BAAs, etc.

Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines

Effective written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and strategies to teams and leadership

Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field

Five years of price analyst experience

Experience with federal procurement regulations

Track record of building creative and compelling pricing strategies/methods contributing to
winning bids, resulting in profitable new business

Demonstrated successful experience collaborating with various constituencies across diverse levels and backgrounds

Engineering and/or technical writing background

Database creation and management experience

General understanding of VBA programming

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
