The Manager ensures the efficient and profitable operation of the c-store through oversight of the day to day activities assuring the consistent implementation of department and University policies and procedures with a focus on food safety and sanitation. The Manager develops and maintains a results oriented team through excellent leadership and organizational skills including coaching and directing employees to perform their duties in a manner that meets or exceeds guests' expectations. The Manager must have good working knowledge of the bargaining unit contract, and University work rules and the ability to communicate these guidelines to staff as needed. Additional responsibilities include determining staffing requirements and completing staff assessments of supervisors, 8 or more bargaining unit employees and student employees. Assures adequate oversight of the operation that conducts 1600 or more transactions daily and is open 7 days/week, 24 hrs/day operating with cashierless technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Two (2) year degree from accredited university with a major in Culinary Arts, Institutional Management, Business, Restaurant Management or related field of study and three (3) years of managerial experience.
*In lieu of educational requirement, five (5) years of progressive managerial experience.
*Working knowledge of usual and customary commercial kitchen equipment with the ability to train others.
*Proven record in appropriately scheduling and assigning staff members to ensure high performing teams.
*Proven successful experience in business processes applicable to purchasing, financial accounting, inventories, and food service management.
*Willingness to adapt to newly evolving/emerging technologies.
*Knowledge of basic IT terms/equipment.
*Strong mathematical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
*Currently ServSafe certified or certified with one (1) year of hire.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Must be able to work a varied schedule including evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays.
*Must have a valid driver's license with less than six (6) points and be insurable by the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

*Four (4) year accredited degree in HRI management, Business Administration, Culinary Arts or related field of study and three (3) years of managerial experience.
*Proven knowledge of food costing, menu development, ordering, storage and inventory controls, and safe food handling policies and procedures.
*Verifiable managerial experience and knowledge of at least one year of Micros, CBord and Kronos or similar systems.
*Prior experience working in a cashierless retail operation.
*Experience building/designing and adhering to planogram design.
*Proven experience in scheduling and managing a diverse bargaining unit staff of eight (8) or more using employee relations skills including staff training and assessment and progressive discipline under contract provisions.
*Proven leadership skills including adaptability, dependability, decisiveness, integrity, and objectivity.
*Additional abilities include being well organized and experience with team development, staff planning and assessment.
*Demonstrated ability in creativity, innovation and management of multiple tasks with little supervision.
*Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify research and solve a wide variety of related challenges.
*Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
*Experience working with diverse students and multi-cultural staff.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
