Position Summary:

Join our team of equity-minded and collaborative professionals to advance a diverse portfolio of high quality program types and locations. Engage the campus community in developing strategies that increase access for all students, and fosters sustainable and aspirationally de-colonial approaches to education abroad and away. Lead the day to day operations of the Education Abroad and Away team within the Global and Intercultural Affairs Center

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree
5 years' experience in education abroad or travel learning programs with increasing levels of responsibility
5 years leadership experience in related field
Experience supervising
Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships across an organization and with diverse constituencies
Budget planning/fiscal management experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Demonstrated success with education abroad strategy development and implementation in a higher education setting
Demonstrated success in advancing inclusive and equitable culture, policy, practice or procedure
Experience working with faculty to develop sites, pedagogy and/or programs
Experience working in cross disciplinary teams to design learning around global themes or issues
Understanding of or experience with advancing Fair Trade Learning, Critical Internationalization, and/or decolonial approaches.
Experience with travel health and safety
Experience managing emergency response at off site locations
Experience supervising professional staff
Demonstrated ability to develop (or enhance) a collaborative, trusting, positive work environment
Proficiency in the use of Studio Abroad (Terra Dotta) or similar system
Intercultural communication skills
Excellent oral communication skills
Experience working with international partners or organizations
Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed
Experience working, teaching, or studying abroad
Doctorate or terminal degree
Grant, proposal or report writing experience
Working knowledge of immigration and visa issues related to overseas travelers
Second language proficiency
Familiarity with Cascade content management system or other CMSs
Appreciation of and sensitivity to the Catholic and Marianist mission

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
