Position Summary: |
Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for our Facilities System Specialist opening!
Operates, monitors and maintains utilities, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) setup, maintenance and balancing, electrical, compressed air, bulk gas systems,water for injection (WFI), purified water and process equipment. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve facilities processes. Commissions new equipment and processes and maintains overall facility reliability.

Minimum Qualifications: |
High school graduate or its equivalent plus a minimum of twelve years of related technical experience is required Working knowledge of code, applicable laws in relation to electrical, structural, plumbing, HVAC, etc Experience leading and working projects connecting in general contractors and sub-contractors Experience with reading and interpreting construction drawings and CAD Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs Strong Attention to Detail Highly organized Effective written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with ability to work with no supervision Familiarity with Sharepoint Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or applicable field of study or a minimum of 3 years directly related experience in facilities engineering and management Experience with leases and lease management Proven experience in customer facing roles Demonstrated experience working with and leading a multi-disciplinary team(s) Direct experience working with facility landlords and contractors in relation to construction and maintenance Availability to travel

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
