We invite qualified applicants to apply for our Senior Academic Technical Support Specialist opening! The Senior Academic Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing exemplary customer service primarily supporting University of Dayton Faculty, Staff and Students with technology in learning spaces. Support entails a wide range of technical systems, applications, and audio-visual needs. The position is highly knowledgeable administering computer systems in an enterprise environment and understands how these systems interface with audio-visual technology. This position may collaborate with and perform backup responsibilities for other ITS teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree OR five years of experience in an IT customer support services team role preferably in higher education
Prior experience administering Mac and Windows systems in an enterprise environment
Experience coordinating across multiple IT disciplines (e.g. infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, end user support, application support, hardware, etc.)
Experience troubleshooting audio-visual systems
Proven ability to configure and manage groups of workstations with client management tools
Knowledge and experience with workstation imaging processes and skill sets required to build, deploy and maintain images in current Windows
Experience diagnosing and repairing computer hardware issues
Proficiency working with customers in an enterprise networked print environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organization including senior executives
Effective time management skills
Ability to create technical and procedural knowledge and training resources
Self-starter, motivator and team player
Valid drivers license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor’s Degree
Higher Education IT experience
ITIL certification
Knowledge and experience with workstation imaging processes and skill sets required to build, deploy and maintain images in current OSX operating systems
Experience with ITSM applications
Experience in an enterprise IT environment
Industry recognized technical certification
Experience supporting mobile devices
Basic scripting knowledge
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
