Position Summary:

The University of Dayton Department of Economics & Finance invites qualified applicants to apply for our Senior Administrative Assistant opening!

Provide administrative support and assistance to the chairperson, all full time and adjunct faculty, and manage the Department office. Working with minimal supervision, anticipate, prioritize, organize, delegate, coordinate and execute tasks daily to improve and enhance and keep the office running smoothly for faculty, students, and other UD and external customers. Oversee activities needed to support the chair in their work with all stakeholders and constituencies of the Department with initiative and accuracy. Maintains an overall knowledge of the Department's major, minor, and graduate programs. Mindful of the academic calendar, recognizes and completes the tasks specific to each term. Supports the Department’s centers of excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal, organization, and customer service skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
Experience as an administrative assistant or similar role.
Motivation to learn.
Experience working in a college or university academic office.
Familiarity with University of Dayton academic systems and processes.
Business experience.
