Position Summary:

UDRI is seeking an Electronics Technician to support the Munitions’ Directorate at Eglin AFB, Florida. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This position is located at Eglin AFB, FL. This position is for an on site electronics technician working with Advanced Initiation Science (AIS) Team of the Air Force Research Laboratory’s HERD Branch within the Munitions’ Directorate at Eglin AFB. The position will support the technical area of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) of energetic materials and components. The position requires interaction with engineers, scientists, and technologists to perform research and testing of a variety of materials, vessels and components and to accurately relay verbal and written reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
• Working knowledge and competency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Teams, Word, etc)
• Ability to work in a team of engineers and technicians.
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Candidate must have or be able to obtain a SECRET level security clearance and DoD explosive certification within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Experience with oscilloscopes.
• Experience with pulse generators.
• Experience with analog circuits, soldering, printed circuit boards, and instrumentation.
• Experience with fiber optics and laser systems.
• Experience in working with, the handling of and disposal of energetic materials.
• Experience with high voltage sources and measurement techniques.
• Experience working with pressure vessels.
• Familiarity with high-speed data acquisition softward and systems (e.g. NI Labview, Tektronix TekScope, Matlab/Simulink, Python, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and/or use CAD modeling software (e.g. Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, PTC Creo, etc.)
• Experience with optical microscopy and metrology systems.
• Experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
