The University of Dayton seeks an experienced and passionate leader in enrollment management to direct and oversee the university’s Office of Graduate Admissions. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Graduate and Professional Education (GPE), the Director of Graduate Admissions and Retention (DGAR) is responsible for developing and providing strategic direction for UD’s admissions and recruitment processes for its on ground, hybrid, and online graduate, professional, and certificate programs. The ideal candidate will be a team player who contributes broadly to the university’s graduate enrollment success while focusing on enrollment growth. This role provides inspiring and forward-thinking leadership to support the university’s mission as a top tier Catholic, Marianist research institution, while recruiting outstanding domestic and international students for UD’s robust portfolio of doctoral and master’s degrees, and dozens of graduate certificates.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of four years of admissions and enrollment management experience as an assistant director or comparable or higher level position. UD takes pride in cultivating strong, clear, and supportive relationships with prospective students from the start of the admissions funnel. The DGAR will be leaned upon for their commitment to outstanding communications, efficient processes, and responsive workflows to ensure success in recruiting high quality applicants to UD’s outstanding graduate program offerings. Top candidates will also have extensive familiarity with enrollment management CRMs (e.g., TargetX, Education Cloud, Slate, etc.) and a passion for staying current on trends and best practices in graduate admissions. In that vein, the DGAR will also provide analytical support for GPE’s holistic efforts to support graduate students through their academic careers at UD.
Essential Duties - Review, improve, and establish, as warranted, practices for optimizing UD’s management of admissions funnels for the majority of UD’s graduate programs. - Provide analytical and practical support for graduate program directors and staff in their efforts to recruit new students. - Analyze and research application and enrollment trends for UD’s graduate programs to improve, deepen, and expand markets across the program portfolio. - Support continuous improvement efforts with GPE related to graduate program marketing and growth. - Advise the Associate Provost for GPE and other university stakeholders on new program opportunities. - Collaborate with UD’s partners for graduate international student enrollment on admissions targets and candidate support.

Minimum Qualifications: |
- Master’s degree. - Minimum four years of related experience. - Experience working independently at a high level of performance. - Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver presentations to diverse audiences. - Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and strategies, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media. - Experience managing budgets, analyzing data, and using insights to drive strategic decision-making. - Competency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. - Experience with sales CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Education Cloud, Slate). - Willing and able to work select evenings and weekends (approximately 8-10 times per year). - Willing and able to travel for recruitment opportunities. - Valid drivers license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
- Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or Business. - Four years of related experience in higher education admissions leadership or similar experience in sales and management. - Four years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in higher education or a related sector. - Proven track record of successfully managing marketing campaigns and leading teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. - Demonstrated performance in routinely reaching or exceeding graduate enrollment and net revenue targets. - Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
