This position is responsible for managing the execution of corrosion coating testing and evaluation projects within the UDRI Coatings Corrosion and Erosion Group. The person in this position will assist the principle investigators in performing professional level assignments that require the use of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of coatings testing and technologies as well as planning and conducting of experiments, design, and/or analysis efforts.

Minimum Qualifications: |
*A bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related field. *A minimum of three years of related experience is required. *Experience in mechanical pneumatics and electrical experience on maintaining and troubleshooting machines. *Experience in designing and building mechanical/electrical equipment, leading projects, cost analysis on testing and building test equipment and ability to present testing results. *Software Experience Requirements: -PLC -HMI -Autocad /SolidWorks -LabView -Microsoft Office Applications *Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass a National Agency Check at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
*Advanced technical degree (MS, Ph.D.). *Experience with PI Process Book or similar. *Experience in cathodic reduction of metals (aluminum, silver, copper, etc.) and analysis. *Familiarity with aerospace substrates, coating technologies, especially with regard to DOD coatings involved in corrosion control technologies. *Experience in coating testing, corrosion control/characterization, accelerated testing of coatings and coating systems. *Experience with mechanical systems and testing and ability to write and generate technically coherent project reports to project sponsors. *Experience with SEM, EDS, XRF, and Laser Confocal Microscopy.
