The Senior Data Modeler plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of a data management strategy that supports the organization's strategic goals and operational needs. This individual will work with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data architectures. This individual will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models; informing, defining, and documenting data governance standards; ensuring data integrity; and optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.

Minimum Qualifications: |
• High school diploma or equivalent. • At least 5 years professional experience in a data management related field. • Relational and dimensional data modeling, database design, and performance tuning skills. • Understanding of source and target data structures, ETL processes, and products. • Five years experience writing SQL. • Experience with systems analysis functions with emphasis on translating business needs into technical solutions. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical related field. • Working knowledge of data warehousing design principles. • Experience working with data in the Higher Education industry. • Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Salesforce, and Canvas data. • Two or more years of experience with relational databases and/or data warehouse technologies. • Three years experience using Oracle database. • Ability to work with users at all levels of the organization. • Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
