Staff Materials Engineer - Post Doc Advanced Materials Charac - 250468
This position will lead environmental and mechanical testing of high temperature ceramic materials to provide insight into the processing-microstructure-performance relationship and the overall response of the material. The ideal candidate will have a background and hands-on experience in mechanical and environmental testing of ceramic materials including but not limited to CMCs, UHTCs, and UHTCMCs evidenced through research publications, in peer-reviewed journals, professional society conference presentations, patents, or work experience. The candidate is expected to collaborate with DoD research staff from a variety of disciplines to publish peer-reviewed scientific articles and aid in the development of technologies for U.S. national security interests. Candidates must have a Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering or related subject. This position provides opportunities to interface with researchers from government, academia, and industry on a highly-integrated project.
Associate Research Engineer Fuel Science - 250321
An Associate Research Engineer assists other researchers in measurement, testing and evaluation of aviation turbine fuels and related materials. Activities may include analytical work, construction of new devices, techniques and instrumentation to conduct property testing, etc. Part of his/her responsibilities include: constructing, operating, and maintaining experimental devices to achieve the prescribed research goals; acquiring, analyzing, interpreting and reporting scientific data; and maintaining chemical laboratory equipment and supplies. This person could contribute (or eventually contribute) to proposal efforts.
Accounting Assistant Program Control - 250211
The Accounting Assistant supports the Research Institute’s Accounting Office with accounting, invoicing, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include assembling supporting documentation for sponsor invoices, uploading invoice information into Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), applying payments to accounts, providing administrative support to the office to include supporting audits, filing, processing mail, ordering office supplies, and organizing activities. The Accounting Assistant will support other accounting activities such as reviewing and approving travel when the travel coordinator is unavailable; creating invoices per billing requests, updating and maintaining procedural documentation; reconciling spreadsheets, accounts, and other financial data and identifying discrepancies; and tracking expenses at a project level.
