The Coordinator of Budgets and Financial Operations plays a key role in the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Division of Student Development. This position will assist in the planning and development of budgets; interpret, monitor, and analyze information related to financial and human resource operations; coordinate staff position control, including compensation; resolve problems that would impact the fiscal position of the division and its staff members; and perform advanced and confidential duties requiring broad experience and knowledge of the University's policies and procedures.

The Coordinator of Budgets and Financial Operations will regularly provide staff with updates and interpretation of policies and procedures, including developing educational and training materials. This position will coordinate staff compensation matters and maintain and protect the confidentiality of personnel and compensation information. This position will resolve administrative issues by gathering feedback, analyzing information, identifying and communicating solutions, answering questions, and fulfilling requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree OR two (2) or more years of experience in accounting or finance.
Professional experience analyzing financial data, viewing trends, preparing reports, and making
recommendations.
Experience reconciling actual expenses to budgets.
Experience creating, overseeing, and reconciling multiple budgets.
Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of information.
Ability to plan and organize work in observance of deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience working cooperatively and collaboratively with others to handle multiple tasks or projects at the same time.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (including advanced knowledge of Excel pivot tables, formulas, and charting).
Ability to learn and apply new systems.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work based on immediate need of action, work objectives, and work schedule.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master's degree OR five (5) or more years of experience in accounting or finance.
Experience using PageUp, TeamDynamix, or other position management/tracking software.
Experience with position control management.
Proficiency with financial reporting and procurement systems (e.g. Banner, Cognos, Runway, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively, respectfully, and professionally in a collaborative environment with multiple constituents at all levels in an organization.
Experience working at a higher education institution.
Experience proposing and implementing new processes to create efficiencies and reduce cost.
Understanding of University of Dayton policies and procedures regarding budgets and compensation.
Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist educational values.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
