Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our Research IT department invites qualified candidates to apply for our Junior Network Engineer opening!

This position requires a motivated, fast learner. The successful candidate will possess the technical skills and knowledge to configure, troubleshoot, and maintain our network architecture, as well as the ability to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate should also have a strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to customers in a clear and concise manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate plus four years of relevant experience (diverse, progressive administrative) and training, OR an associate degree plus two years of relevant experience and training, OR a Bachelor's and no previous experience required
• Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
• Networking technology knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, or switching)
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams and constituents
• Active Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE-4, JNCIA or equivalent network certification (proof of certification required)
• Experience working with firewalls and wireless communication technology
• Experience with CMMC 2.0 or NIST 800-171 compliance
