Position Summary:

We are looking for a legal office oriented candidate who desires the perfect blend of serving the community while earning a steady income. Our Law Clinic Coordinator serves the critical function of running the Clinic Office to the benefit of students earning hands-on experience as well as clients receiving quality legal representation to which they otherwise would not have access. We are a diverse community of students, staff and faculty at a Catholic, Marianist research University in search of a candidate to provide outstanding service to our constituents. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

The Clinic Coordinator ensures that the teaching law office (Law Clinic) runs well and that office systems are in place and working properly. The Clinic Coordinator must also be the interface between the Law Clinic, its faculty and students, clients and those who request legal assistance, and the legal community. It is the responsibility of the Clinic Coordinator to ensure that proper support is given to enable excellent production of the legal work and provide administrative assistance to Law Clinic faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school graduate with minimum of five years of experience in a law office or equivalent setting.
- Minimum one year of office management experience.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have ability to interact professionally with faculty and partners in the community with whom the clinic collaborates, empathize with and encourage students under stress, and give compassionate respect to Law Clinic clients without regard to economic status or other diversities.
- Experience in office skills including use of Microsoft Office software and editing others' work.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Training as legal secretary and/or Paralegal Certification or other legal or social services degree.
- Experience in client based administrative office.
- Experience in case management and client related service.
