This is a full time position located onsite at the University of Dayton Research Institute, to serve as a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Subject Matter Expert & Training Instructor. Provides technical instruction on a variety of advanced manufacturing training topics at military and commercial locations in both the CONUS and OCONUS. Serves as the lead Engineering Subject Matter Expert within a multi-functional team to provide expertise to translate engineering specifications to formulate training and education solutions to meet client requirements. Utilizes engineering technical expertise to apply a problem solving methodology to assess education and training materials to confirm compliance with current engineering policy and best practices, perform gap analysis, identify root causes, develop countermeasures, confirm results and standardize processes. Integrates knowledge of engineering systems, best practices, standards, software and tools into technical course content during development phases to produce interactive and engaging student learning experiences. Develops internal standards by which to qualify and recertify engineering technical instructors to ensure standard delivery of all training courses to the Air Force and commercial agencies. Leads continuous process improvement events. Provides inputs as required for technical proposals.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering.
2. A minimum of eight years’ experience working as an engineer.
3. A minimum of four years' instructor experience delivering training for engineering manufacturing related topics.
4. Experience in supporting Department of the Air Force clients.
5. Minimum of three years’ experience using CAD Software (3D and 2D) SoldiWorks, Stratasys Insight & Control Center.
6. Experience in evaluating technical training content and supporting materials.
7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
8. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
9. Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
10. Willingness to up to travel approximately 10% both in United States and overseas.
11. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
12. Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master's degree in Materials Science Engineering.
2. Familiar with University of Dayton Research Institute policies and procedures.
3. Experience analyzing, developing and evaluating technical training materials.
4. Licensed Professional Engineer.
5. Three years’ experience teaching Additive Manufacturing operator courses.
6. Experience with leading multi-functional teams.
7. Self-motivated with ability to lead small teams and work with minimal supervision and direction.
8. Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
9. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
10. Experience in Microsoft Project, Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 tools, Canvas Learning Management System.
