Position Summary:

Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual seeking a rewarding career in a dynamic and mission-driven environment? The University of Dayton is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk 1 to join our Finance & Admin Services division in Dayton, OH. We invite qualified candidate to apply!

The Accounts Payable Clerk 1 performs accounts payable accounting functions including processing invoices, invoice issue resolution, preparation of disbursements, and accounts payable related record keeping. This position provides professional and exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate.
Accounting experience.
Must be able to perform a high volume of detailed tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Able to communicate orally with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is important.
Strong communication skills via telephone and email
Must be able to understand some accounting terminology, balance data entry batches efficiently and accurately, and have problem solving skills.
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelors degree in related field.
Familiar with 1099 rules and process.
Proficient in Excel and Word.
Able to document a work process standard and work with others to improve work processes.
