Position Summary:

Are you seeking a meaningful career where you can truly make a difference? The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research institution, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Kennedy Union to join our Student Development division.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Kennedy Union Operations, the Assistant Director of Kennedy Union is responsible for scheduling of space in Kennedy Union and outdoor areas managed by the Center for Student Involvement. The assistant director coordinates the annual events schedule, manages all reservations, and supervises the office receptionist and Information Center student staff for the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Three years of related experience in event management of scheduling
Proficient skill with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Google tools and database applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs)
Ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Attention to detail and ability to thoroughly follow through on directions and specific instructions
Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer relations and employee motivation, particularly in managing young adults
Must be a highly organized individual with the ability to analyze processes and recognize procedural improvement
Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master's Degree in a relevant field
Five years of experience in an event management/scheduling position
Professional experience serving in a similar role in a university or college environment
Demonstrated experience working with Accruent/EMS event management software
