Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the direction, planning, organization, development and implementation of all financial, budgetary, and operational activities in the School of Law. Reporting directly to the dean, and secondarily reporting to the Director of Budget and Planning, this position serves in an advisory capacity to provide budget development and monitoring, forecasting, financial analysis, and long-range financial planning for the School. This position monitors all personnel related actions and develops strategies to meet the human capital needs of all departments. The Director coordinates the ABA annual questionnaire, the financial and other material needed for ABA accreditation visits, and the U.S. News and World Report annual questionnaire and responds to other internal and external requests for information as needed. This position has oversight for building & facility requirements and agreement processing with third parties. Additionally, this position is the key liaison with other administrative units on campus as well as a member of the cross functional Business Officer Leadership Team.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field.
● Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, budget preparation and management.
● Experience in financial and strategic planning, analysis and forecasting.
● Experience communicating complex financial data and trends to multiple audiences, including executive leadership.
● Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
● Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
● Proficiency in excel and other standard office software applications.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Supervision experience.
● Experience building cross-functional relationships and providing a high level of customer service to internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

● Master’s degree in business (MBA), accounting or finance.
● CPA, CMA or CGMA designation.
● More than five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and strategic planning.
● Experience working in higher education in an accounting, business or finance role.
● Experience using data analysis to measure and track financial performance.
● Experience with Banner, Cognos and/or Anaplan.
● Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
