Position Summary:

Join the University of Dayton's Cutting-Edge Research and Innovation Hub! The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Associate Project Management Assistant to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that drives groundbreaking research and technology development in support of our clients and partners. As an Associate Project Management Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting project managers and researchers in the execution of complex projects.

This is a full time position at the UDRI campus in Dayton, OH. The position is to provide assistance to the project management team supporting automation and robotics technologies. The work will primarily support government customers, but some industrial business may be supported as well. Specific work tasks include taking meeting minutes; updating and managing action items; preparing briefing slides; updating project management tools such as MS Project or Excel spreadsheets; setting up meetings and managing calendars. This will all be done to assist the project managers with managing all phases of a project and a program: Initiation, Definition and Planning, Execution, Implementation, Control and Closure. Further, this position would assist the project or program manager in managing cost, schedule, performance, risk, change and quality for all assigned projects and programs. This position will also support the financial objectives by assisting with forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Associate’s degree plus 2 years’ experience in related field OR Bachelor’s degree with no experience.
2. Experience supporting projects and managing cost, schedule, performance, scope, risk and change management.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
4. Self-starter with excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
5. Willingness to travel approximately 5%.
6. Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.
7. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Experience with UDRI policies and procedures.
2. Familiar with compliant rules for ITAR, CUI, and security classification and DoD files management.
3. Certified in Introduction to Robotics and Universal Robotics Risk Assessment.
4. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures.
5. Experience supporting Air Force automation and robotic projects.
6. Experience creating and maintaining project-related Power BI dashboards, MS List files, OneNote files management, and SharePoint documentation repositories.
7. Experience with creating Integrated Master Plans and Integrated Master Schedules.
8. Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
9. Formal training in project management.
