The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking an Associate Project Management Assistant to join our team! As an Associate Project Management Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the division's project management efforts, ensuring seamless execution and successful delivery of initiatives.
This is a full-time position at the UDRI campus in Dayton, OH. The position is to provide assistance to the project management team supporting sustainment technology projects including advanced manufacturing, cold spray repair, materials characterization, cybersecurity and digital enablers. The work will primarily support government customers, but some industrial businesses may be supported as well. Specific work tasks include taking meeting minutes; updating and managing action items; preparing briefing slides; updating project management tools such as MS Project or Excel spreadsheets; setting up meetings and managing calendars. This will all be done to assist the project managers with managing all phases of a project: Initiation, Definition and Planning, Execution, Implementation, Control and Closure. Further, this position would assist the project manager in managing cost, schedule, performance, risk, change and quality for all assigned projects. This position will also support the financial objectives by assisting with forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Associate’s degree plus 2 years’ experience related to supporting project management dealing with cost, schedule, scope, risks, and quality. 2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project). 3. Self-starter with excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. 4. Experience supporting Air Force advanced manufacturing projects. 5. Experience supporting project managers in planning and organizing technical projects. 6. Valid driver's license with low risk driving record. 7. Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
1. Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years of experience in support of managing projects. 2. Experience with UDRI policies and procedures. 3. Familiar with compliant rules for ITAR, CUI, and security classification and DoD files management. 4. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures. 5. Effective interpersonal communication skills demonstrated by communicating directly with the customer and senior levels of leadership. 6. Experience with creating Integrated Master Plans and Integrated Master Schedules. 7. Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team. 8. Formal training in project management.
