Are you passionate about driving cutting-edge research and innovation? The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a renowned research institution that fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, and impactful work.
This is a full-time position at the UDRI campus in Dayton, OH. The position is for a Research Project Manager (PM) supporting aircraft sustainment projects which includes advanced manufacturing technologies, quality, cybersecurity, digital enablers and technical event planning. The work will primarily support the Department of Defense and be customer-facing. Multiple highly technical projects will be managed. Some industrial business may be supported. Specific work tasks include managing technical projects through the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet the requirements for each project. PM activities require that each project is managed through all phases: Initiation, Definition and Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and Closure. This PM will ensure that each project assigned is managed to meet requirements for cost, schedule, performance, risk, change, scope and quality. This position will also support financial objectives by assisting with forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. The PM must obtain operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining improvements and managing change. It is crucial this candidate have high energy, a positive can-do attitude and be a self-starter with little guidance or oversight. They must excel at networking and keeping all technical teams in sync.

Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Bachelor’s Degree. 2. 3 years’ experience in project management. 3. Experience managing DoD or Air Force advanced manufacturing projects. 4. Experience in planning, organizing, and executing technical projects. 5. Experience managing project cost, schedule, performance, scope, risk, change and quality. 6. Effective frequent communication is required internally and with the customer to progress projects being managed. 7. Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team. 8. Familiar with compliant rules for ITAR, CUI, and security classification and DoD files management. 9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project). 10. Formal education in project management. 11. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
1. Experience with UDRI policies and procedures 2. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures. 3. Self-starter with excellent writing and briefing skills. 4. Experience with creating Integrated Master Plans and Integrated Master Schedules. 5. Project Management Professional certification through the PMI Institute.
