Position Summary:

The University of Dayton is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join its esteemed Athletics division as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach. This unique opportunity offers a dynamic environment where you can contribute to the success of our student-athletes and coaching staff while immersing yourself in the vibrant campus culture.

The special assistant to the head coach provides high-level administrative support to the head women's basketball coach by providing a variety of administrative and operational duties for this fast-paced, high-energy office. This position supports the head coach in managing their daily schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, and teleconferences; coordinating and securing travel arrangements for the head coach (air, ground, and lodging), and assisting with special games/events with our alumni and donors. This position will also assist with the overall offensive/defensive schemes, scouting, analytics, and practice/game planning as well as assisting with recruiting visits and depth chart maintenance. This position will also serve as the student-athlete performance and wellness liaison. Additionally, this position will monitor social media and overall creative content around the program, help to develop and mentor the assistant coaches and support staff, and develop and implement the future coaching curriculum for the student-athletes. The special assistant will also instruct, train and coach student-athletes about the collegiate game and skills required to be a Division I athlete, and also instruct student-athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations.

This is a 12 month, full time, benefit eligible position. All University of Dayton Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of Division 1 Associate/Head Coaching Experience
- 10+ years of Division 1 Coaching Experience
- Proficient in Photoshop, Canva, iMovie, InDesign
- Must have the experience and ability to manage and respect confidential data and records.
- Proficient in office practices, processes, and Microsoft Office software particularly Word, Excel and Access
- Able to successfully execute duties and assigned projects in a high energy, demanding work environment
- Experienced at scheduling and coordinating professional travel arrangements
- Able to work evenings and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Master’s degree
- Experience in collegiate basketball as a former student-athlete or support staff.
- Experience in executive calendar management
- Proficient in photography and videography
- Current with the latest social media trends
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and/or experience with college athletics
