The Rapid Sustainment Division (RSD) increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying, applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the U.S. Air Force. The RSD located at Hangar 01 in Beavercreek, OH is the lead in bringing together a comprehensive network of new technological methods, processes, and techniques. The RSD Additive Manufacturing (AM) Program Office (AMPO) team develops an organic industrial base within the U.S. Air Force by utilizing additive technologies such as 3D printing to produce tooling, fixtures, support equipment, and aircraft parts.

This is a full time position located onsite at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) in Dayton, OH and serves as an Advanced Manufacturing Integration Manager primarily supporting the Combat Readiness Program Executive Office (PEO), Rapid Sustainment Division (RSD). The ideal candidate must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, and deadline-intensive environment.

The Advanced Manufacturing Integration Manager focuses on various integration activities of multiple technologies, uses USAF systems to conduct research, collects requirements, and assists teams to develop strategies and viable solutions for rapid integration. As well, the Integration Manager participates and/or leads multi-functional integrated process teams to address problems, formulate solutions, and to support continuous process improvements. The Integration Manager coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, monitors project cost schedule and performance processes, completes status reports and assists in preparation of program office acquisition support documentation. The Integration Manager provides project management support, creates briefings, conducts reviews, and facilitates administrative and technical support for PMRs, workshops, technical interface meetings, technical order validations, conferences, client meetings, and other events when requested. Also, the Integration Manager provides expertise on related USAF and DoD policy and procedures (e.g., logistics, supply chain, maintenance and acquisition) to guide development of effective organic solutions and successfully align future sustainment of new technology to the appropriate USAF process owner. The Integration Manager supports the preparation and review of pertinent performance data, coordinates with applicable managers, and finalizes related documentation needed for presentation and/or delivery to the client. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BS degree in business administration, management, supply chain, logistics or related fields.
2. 8+ years of related DoD or USAF acquisition logistics or maintenance (base retail/depot or HQ levels) management providing leadership, analytical support, and tactical level subject matter expertise to USAF logistics, maintenance or other related functional activities.
3. 8+ years of experience executing DoD/USAF technically related focused initiatives to include preparing and monitoring budgets, managing resource utilization to optimize resource management to enhance mission readiness.
4. 4+ years implementing process improvements for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Knowledge of related USAF and DoD policy, procedures and technical orders (e.g., logistics, supply chain, maintenance and acquisition) governing sustainment and operational support.
6. Ability to perform technical data research, analyze trends, monitor and report performance for both internal and external use.
7. Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team with ability to serve as a leader and/or participant with minimal supervision and direction.
8. Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
9. Excellent organizational and communication skills to include presentation skills with ability to interact with coworkers and the client at all levels.
10. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint).
11. Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
12. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
13. Willingness to travel approximately 5%.
14. Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master’s degree in business administration, management, supply chain, logistics or related fields.
2. Experience with weapon system sustainment planning and execution, product support management, sustaining engineering, and depot/field maintenance planning.
3. Experience with use of DoD/USAF systems such as FLIS, BLADE, JEDMICS, A-Team, METALS, REMIS and ETIMS.
4. Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and required sustainment planning during each phase.
5. Familiarity with the DoD’s Integrated Product Support Elements and guidance for application.
6. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as fabrication, casting, forging, extrusion, CNC machining, injection molding, thermoforming, etc.
7. Familiarity with USAF quality assurance and compliance processes.
8. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project and Project Management Certification.
9. DoD Acquisition Certification (DAWIA) Level III for Life Cycle Logistics.
10. Formal training and/or certification in Lean and Six Sigma.
