Position Summary:

As part of the Division of University Marketing and Communications, the Communication Operations Specialist is a member of a technical marketing team that collaborates closely to support the communication needs of the Division of Enrollment Management.

Through the EM Marketing and Communications team, this position is responsible for executing communications that promote the University to prospective undergraduate students, including but not limited to high school students, transfer students, UD Sinclair Academy students, international students, veterans and military-connected students, parents and high school counselors.

The Communication Operations Specialist is committed to service excellence in the execution of our most vital touchpoints — from publishing and fulfilling acceptance letters that generate excitement for admitted students, to merging financial aid communications that clearly articulate the costs and value of a UD education, to sending emails that help recruitment and admission move students through the marketing funnel. This role focuses on the “how” of communication: writing SQL queries and building Salesforce reports to pull precise audiences, merging data in high volume letters and PDFs, and ensuring every piece of mail or email we send is accurate, personalized and professional.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Communication Operations, this role will prepare critical direct mail communications while also supporting the execution of email campaigns, data requests and managing inventory of the team’s print materials.

Rooted in our Catholic, Marianist traditions, University Marketing and Communications is committed to inclusion and belonging. This position will work to ensure we are accurately communicating with and reaching the many audiences vital to the University’s success.

This position is located in Dayton, Ohio; a hybrid work schedule is available with a mixture of on-campus and remote work.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience
- 1 or more years of experience in a data-driven or print fulfillment role
- Experience with mail merges for letters and print projects
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy with a commitment to service excellence
- Ability to manage projects independently while contributing to team goals
- Proven ability to produce positive results while maintaining multiple projects with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Working knowledge of Oracle SQL, HTML, Alteryx, Adobe InDesign, S-docs, Edify and/or Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel)
- Familiarity working in an Agile scrum project management environment
- Experience with email marketing: building email templates, pulling data for audiences and sending emails (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred)
- Experience with CRM software and reporting (Salesforce preferred)
- Experience working with higher education data

Special Instructions to Applicants:

To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The University does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Closing Statement:

Informed by its Catholic and Marianist mission, the University is committed to the dignity of every human being. Informed by this commitment, we seek to increase diversity in all of its forms, achieve fair outcomes, and model inclusion across our campus community. The University is committed to policies of affirmative action designed to increase the employment opportunities of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans in compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1973.
