Position Summary:

Apply your financial management expertise to manage project budgets, analyze financial reports and support contract administration activities! The University of Dayton Research Institute invites qualified applicants to apply for our Financial Analyst opening today!

Position duties include:
• Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets in alignment with government contracting requirements.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including Funds Status Reports, Manhour Expenditure Reports, and other internal/external reporting deliverables.
• Track obligations, expenditures, burn rates, and funding projections across multiple contracts, both government and industrial.
• Report funding execution goals across multiple appropriation categories.
• Support contract administration activities, including reviewing and understanding Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs), IDIQ contracts, task orders, and modifications.
• Collaborate with program managers, contract administrators, and finance team to ensure compliance with federal regulations and contract terms.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and financial closeout processes.
• Utilize Costpoint to run reports, validate data, and support financial analysis.
• Provide recommendations to leadership based on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Maintain documentation and audit-ready records in accordance with government standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in budget analysis, financial management, or program control within a government contracting environment
• Knowledge of contract types, including Blanket POs, cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, and T&M structures
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
• Experience supporting DoD or other federal agencies
• Experience supporting multi-year, multi-funding government programs
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
