Position Summary: The Associate IT Research Professional provides support to a growing business and emerging IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing IT support in the following areas:
• Respond to IT helpdesk tickets:
o Support local and remote users
o Install software on Windows
• Assist with employee IT infrastructure:
o Configure employee workstation/laptop configuration
o Configure employee accounts / active directory
• Assist with hardware and software procurement and inventory management
• Perform basic system and user administration tasks for Windows Server
• Troubleshoot, assemble, repair and configure Intel based workstations, servers and peripheral equipment
Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate plus four years of relevant experience (diverse, progressive administrative) and training, OR an associate degree plus two years of relevant experience and training, OR a Bachelor's and no previous experience required
• Two years of expertise in a windows desktop environment
• Must be able to work independently and have good customer interaction skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in providing helpdesk functions
• CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain this certification within one year of employment
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
• A valid driver’s license and low risk driving record is required to be insurable by the University

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• 1+ years of Active Directory and Windows File Server expertise
• Experience in setup and management of imaging services for building out workstations for windows
• Experience supporting Linux systems
