| Position Summary: |
This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) – Dayton, OH at the University of Dayton Research Institute. It provides process engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including vehicle maintenance, aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment.
Under the leadership of a technical leader, this role will: • Manage the overall manufacturing process at the Dayton ATTC. • Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. • Work with manufacturing team leads and operators to assist in existing processes. • Create process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates. • Execute Lean Projects on the process to improve efficiency and effectiveness. • Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standards. • Manage maintenance and preventative maintenance of all equipment within the process. • Develop standardized operating instructions within the process (TO’s, standard forms, procedures, routers, lessons learned and all other procedures pertaining to operations). • Develop and manage training packages for each role within the process. • Provide training and reoccurring training to each associate within the manufacturing process. • Be a resource for completion of materials testing jobs flowing through the ATTC. • Complete CNC programming for multi-axis machines (5 and 7 axis) supporting all post process operations needed to produce parts to print requirements. • Perform technical scouting and evaluation for next generation processes to resolve customer problem statements. • Traveling between customer sites, offices, or job locations as needed

| Minimum Qualifications: |
R1 Minimum Qualifications: - Associate’s Degree in technical field plus 3 years of related experience or 10 years of manufacturing/process experience working in the design and manufacturing of machined or 3D printed part manufacturing. - 5 years’ experience in computer numerical control (CNC) programming for metals (i.e. milling, turning, EDM, etc…) - 5 years experience using Mastercam software to program CNC machining equipment to produce complex 3+axis aerospace parts and fixtures - Min 3 years of fixture design, part processing ownership or process/manufacturing or machining operations experience - Must possess a thorough understanding of g-code used for machining operations and GD&T part application and standards. - Experience machining alloys such as Inconel 718, Ti-6Al-4V, 17-4PH, 15-5PH - Working knowledge of additive or advanced manufacturing techniques and processes. - Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. - Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals or plastics. - Experience in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs - Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team - Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD modeling - Attention to detail - Valid driver's license with low risk driving record -Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
