Position Summary: This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write and test software in high-level languages, and to develop and test signal processing and machine learning algorithms from concept to implementation. The position will involve working with both hardware and software solutions to apply developed capabilities on various platforms. There will be a heavy emphasis upon machine learning and neuromorphic computing research.
Minimum Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers such as Netbeans, Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar
2. (P1) Demonstrated academic experience developing software using Python, C, C++ and/or Java
3. (P2) Three years of demonstrated, successful professional experience developing software using Python, C, C++ and/or Java
4. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is required
5. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computation Neuroscience, or Theoretical Neuroscience
2. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) developing software using Python, C, C++, and/or Java
3. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) programming in algorithm-level languages such as Matlab, Python, or similar
4. Familiarity with signal processing and control systems
5. Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, and/or reinforcement learning concepts.
6. Familiarity with cognitive architectures and symbolic reasoning (ACT-R, SOAR, etc.)
7. Familiarity with neuromorphic computing and/or spiking neural networks
8. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
9. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
