Position Summary:

Join the Empowering Children with Hope and Opportunity (ECHO) department as a Mental Health Therapist today! Staffed by licensed counselors & social workers, ECHO aids teachers and administrators in helping remove non-academic barriers to learning ­— poverty, exposure to addiction, violence, discrimination, separation or physical and sexual abuse.

The Mental Health Counselor will provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling to the student's in the schools served. The Counselor will be responsible to teach a Social and Emotional program to all the classes in the assigned school. Assisting principals and education staff in the best ways to handle challenging behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work with licensure in the State of Ohio.
-Minimum of 3 years mental health treatment experience with school age children.
-Experience working with diverse cultures.
-Valid driver's license and low risk driving record and is insurable by the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
-Mental health counseling experience in a K-12 school setting.
-Knowledge of Catholic schools and their culture.
-Demonstrated successful experience working independently and productively.
-Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team.
-Successful demonstration of flexibility in day to day activities.
-Demonstrated successful experience building and sustaining relationship and partnerships with school staff and community.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
