Position Summary:

This is a part-time on casual, on call position. Willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays along with commitment to work most, if not all, men's basketball games in addition to other selected events.

A member of the University of Dayton Arena parking staff will be responsible for assisting the Director of Events and Security Coordinator in game day parking operations. He/She will be able to instruct and help parking attendants, communicate with contracted external security, assist with cone set-up and tear down, provide clear, correct directions to guests and enforce Arena and University policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

18 yrs or older
Free of criminal convictions for ANY felony, misdemeanor of violence and/or misdemeanor of sexual misbehavior.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time (in any weather)
Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and occasionally high-stressed environment.
Demonstrated ability to learn and retain multiple policies and instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Possess a pleasant overall demeanor and positive interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to speak professionally and assertively, but NOT aggressively to patrons
Previous experience in parking operations at a large venue

Special Instructions to Applicants:

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
